Meet the therapist.

I was born and raised in a small Indiana town. I was a quiet, thoughtful child with lots of imagination and preferred the company of a book and playing in the dirt outdoors to television or loud groups of kids. My biggest dream was to work with horses, and at the age of 10, it came true. We soon discovered that I had a knack for getting even the most skittish animals to trust me. I was completely hooked.

I finished first in my class in high school and moved on to Miami University of Ohio, graduating a semester early with a B.S. in Mass Communications and a minor in German. After college, I quickly found that working in corporate culture was not for me. I felt like I wanted to do something to contribute to the well-being of the people I met.  I wanted to work with people who were happy to see me and who left feeling better than when they came in.

My skill in soothing animals extended to people as I turned to massage therapy.  I graduated in 2005 from Midwest Academy of Healing Arts from their 500-hour program and became nationally certified by the NCBTMB in 2006. I have taken additional coursework in deep tissue massage techniques, Thai massage, Bamboo Fusion and Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy.  I love to keep learning, so if you don’t see your favorite modality listed, ask me to take a class in it!

I have had my own office in downtown Indianapolis since my graduation from massage school.  In late 2006, I teamed up with the lovely and talented Dr. Sheila Wilson at Georgetown Chiropractic. I enjoyed working part time with her for three years, when I decided to focus solely on the clients at my office in the Stutz Building. Dr. Wilson keeps my hands working, and I highly recommend her to everyone! Visit her website here.

I've also worked with a company called Stage Hands Massage Therapy and been fortunate enough to massage for bands such as O.A.R., Zappa Plays Zappa, Return to Forever, Roger Waters and Def Leppard. I've done chair massage on a repeated basis for companies such as Eli Lilly and Amazon.

After good success with hypnotherapy on a personal level, I decided to get certified in hypnosis through the Omni Hypnosis Training Center. Omni Hypnosis has been teaching since 1979, and its founder, Gerald Kein, trained directly with Dave Elman, who was one of the first to use hypnosis successfully in the medical industry. I believe that hypnosis is one of the most powerful and underused tools for self-healing that exists. Because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, it puts control back into the hands of the individual. Tap into your greatest resource for healing: your subconscious mind.  I'm very excited to incorporate hypnosis into my practice!
